Sou - Yunomi/Tea Cup (Celadon)
Concentric rings in celadon, small enough to cup in both hands.
The sou yunomi in celadon is the matching cup to the sou dobin — the incised ring pattern and celadon glaze creating the same tonal depth in a smaller form. Made in Mizunami, Gifu from Mino porcelain. The celadon glaze pools in the incised grooves, producing slight variations of tone that change depending on the angle of light. At 100ml, it is a considered cup size — not as small as a guomi cup, but focused enough that the tea stays warm through the pour. Learn more about Mino ware at Tea Ware: Mino Ware.
Pairs naturally with the sou dobin — the celadon glaze reads consistently across both pieces.

Founded in 1977 in Mizunami, Gifu Prefecture — the heart of Mino-yaki ceramic production — MIYAMA has spent nearly five decades mastering the art of slip casting, shaping liquid porcelain in plaster molds to achieve forms that are both precise and quietly expressive.
Under second-generation director Hideyuki Matsuzaki, the studio pursues a guiding philosophy: design pieces that invite you to imagine the moment of use. Good Design Award recognition for the KOWAKE (2004), column (2006), and isola/sasasa (2010) series reflects a body of work that pairs gentle humor with careful craft — tableware that earns a place in everyday life without demanding attention.
