This back-handle (ushirode) kyusu is made by Takashige Toen in Tokoname, Aichi — the smallest in AZMAYA's kyusu lineup. The back-handle position keeps your palm close to the body of the pot, which helps you feel the temperature shift as the tea steeps. Unglazed Tokoname stoneware, futa-suri fitted lid — the same careful construction as the larger models, at a scale suited to one cup at a time. Ideal when you want to steep gyokuro at low temperature and drink slowly, without the tea sitting and cooling in a larger pot. Learn more about Tokoname ware at Tea Ware: Tokoname Ware.

A kyusu for mornings when the tea matters and the cup is just for you.
